There is a park called Woodruff Park, right on Peachtree Street, where an assortment of miscreants usually congregate. Apparently, one of the local social climbers was threatening someone with an 8" knife, and a plainclothes cop (GSU-Campus is smack in the middle) tried to intervene, got stabbed by the perp, who was then shot by a uniformed APD officer.
