OCed at Cottage Inn Pizza in downtown Lansing on Washington after the court hearing with TheQ, Venator, DanM, and one guy who's name I didn't catch. (from kzoo)  Had a decent talk with the manager (who is OC friendly) about how they mgmt won't let him carry even though he has a CPL.  He also told us that their security system is on teh fritz and hopefully will be fixed soon.  I wished I had told him to just CC anyways...  chances are no one would know, and if he had to use it, he could be fired, but alive.

Anyways, just ate and took off, nothing eventful to report.  NO looks, no screaming women or children....

Only thing that was kinda funny is I don't have a CPL, so as I was transitioning from transport to OC, I was standing near the door of my truck, grabbed my firearm out of the case after removing the lock...   then as I was slamming in the mag and racking the slide and holstering, LPD pulled up just behind my parked vehicle...  not sure if they saw or not, but the timing couldn't have been worse.  :)   Nothing happened so it was all good.

Oced last night speedway in Dundee, Metro airport at the mac and parking deck about 20 minutes, Denny's in monroe on dixie hwy about 90 minutes. Today while at tractor supply co, Adrian mall and radio shack.

Everyone at metro was too caught up on their ipads and phones to notice more than 3 feet around them.

IWB Oc'd while taking a stroll down the south side harbor-walk in South Haven, all the way from the top of Water st. to the end of the pier and back, only overheard one comment about  me and that was a teenager on a skateboard being told by his buddy to stop riding it on the sidewalk "there's a cop right in front of us".

Stood in line for the water fountain at the south side pavilion for ten minutes while a bunch of little girls took turns "drinking" (hosing each other down) and none of them or their parents took any untoward notice of my sidearm. Hmm... No running, no screaming. I must be doing something wrong.

I open carried on my Harley into Fenton's Tim Horton (coffee) and also into 7 Lakes State park in Holly. I took the first road to the left because it is hilly and winding. On the way back to the main park road, I saw the State police (with bubble gum light turning) race on past me, heading to the main part of the park. It nags in your mind that someone might of called on you, but you can't prove it. Anyways, I didn't follow him, I went the opposite way.

Today, I stopped at a McDonald's for a drink. I was following a mom and her two boys (about 8 and 11) into the building. The youngest was holding the door and got a glimpse of my Beretta. They got to the counter first, and the 8 yr. old stood with his back to the counter, while his mom ordered. The point being that he was so fascinated with the view, that it made me chuckle on the inside.

OC yesterday at the walled lake jet boat races. had to park pretty far away so had to hike it around the lake past a novi police car (no comments or issues) past walled lake barricades and patrol units (same but reserve officers) and around the boats in restaurant parking lot. police everywhere. ran into officer i knew and chatted with him for a minute. no problems or issues. actually felt invisible. there was just an Amp power drink floating thru the air.

Over the last week OCed in Adrian at Lowe's, Speedway, Meijer and Starbucks. While at Meijer a guy asked me if I was attempting to carry concealed, we talked about about a minute and he stated 30 years ago when he got his cpl they were told it was required to be concealed. On the way out he told me it was nice to see someone still exercising their freedom these days.

Last night spent about an hour OCing at Cabela's as I was walking to the exit from checking out I hear a childs voice say "Mommy why is there a policeman working here" her response was there is not at which time I assume he pointed to my XD as it was on their strong side and I hear the mother go "oh, I don't know"

I really need to remember to post my experiences here as well as on OCDO.

Here's mine from today.

Did a little bit of OCing today since it wasn't too godawful hot to tuck in my shirt.

The girlfriend and I walked up the street to the little BBQ place that just opened up to get some take-out. No issues while the guy as putting our order together. He says business is going well so I hope he can make a go of it because it would be nice to have a place within walking distance.

Anyway...

Just as we get back to our driveway one of the neighborhood young-un's rides up on his bike. My girlfriend greets him by name (I work an odd shift so I'm not usually out and about when the kids are) and he asks her "why does he have a gun?"

I turned to greet him and told him: "Well, there are some bad people in the world and I just want to make sure I can protect myself if one of them attacks me. I also want to make sure I can protect the people I care about. That's my girlfriend there (pointing) and I love her very much and I want to be able protect her if somebody tries to hurt her. I also want to be able to protect you and your friends if a bad person tries to hurt you. Does that make sense?"

Him: "Uh-huh"

Me: "That's it. That's the reason I carry a gun."

Him: "Oh, ok. Bye." Then he rode off down the road on his merry way.

OHDEARGODTHINKOFTHECHILDREN!!!!!

Later in the evening I OCed at Steak & Shake on Westnedge in Kalamazoo. An elderly gentleman saw my pistol as I sat down and he watched my for a bit but I think my friendly demeanor with the waitress and the fact that I was just sitting and reading my book and not bothering anybody quickly set him at ease and he went back to his ice cream.

No issues at all.
