“Pocket AR” Pistol in 5.56 NATO
« on: April 22, 2014, 05:29:12 PM »
“You know what I want? I want a handgun that gently tosses a .22 caliber projectile towards the target while generating a massive and blinding fireball from an insanely short barrel.”   That is exactly what Heizer Defense has designed, and will be showing off at the NRA Annual Meeting this weekend.

 :woohoo:

There's a reason for that.  Doubletap LLC had collaborated with Heizer Technologies, LLC to develop the gun.  A patent was apparently issued to Doubletap, but Heizer says he was the inventor, although the Doubletap guy says he was.  They parted ways because Heizer couldn't meet the manufacturing schedule.  Now Doubletap is suing them for that plus trying to stop them from using the patent to make its own version of the gun.  And Heizer is suing Doubletap for patent infringement.  Now they are both making guns on the same design.  They were supposed to go through mediation five months ago. Don't know if that ever happened.

Doubletap sues Heizer for $6 million. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2013/01/daniel-zimmerman/doubletap-sues-heizer-over-breakup/

Heizer sues Doubletap on ten counts including patent infringement. http://www.heizerdefense.com/pdf/announcementletter.pdf

Well look at that.

That's a lot of money over a little gun, and I don't think it will bring in anything near that amount.

Heizer already makes one version of the gun, the PS1 pocket shotgun chambered in 45 Colt or .410 shotgun.

And then the government will say OH LOOK, another pistol that can use "armor piercing rounds" better ban more bullets.

We already have better pistols that use "armor-piercing" rounds--the AR-15 pistol!

In their opinion, this gun is perfect for one application and one application only . . .

Throwing massive fireballs into the sky.

Why is it called a "Pocket AR"?

It doesn't look anything like an AR.

And the actor/actress will be using the full-auto model that fires 6 shots before reloading, right?   :SMH:
